True Lemon Review

I've been really excited about trying True Lemon's line of products. They arrived just in time for my beach vacation which was perfect because the drink mixes are in such small packets they are perfect for travel. It was so easy to make lemonade with just a bottle of water in my hotel suite. The raspberry lemonade mix was refreshing after a day at the beach. Since there are several brands of drink mix packets like these, I want to highlight for my readers what makes True Lemon unique and different from the rest of the market.

True Lemon's Products are made directly from the fruit's oils and juices; they are essentially the fruit in crystallized form. They contain NO CALORIES and NO ARTIFICIAL SWEETENERS, PRESERVATIVES, or SODIUM! One packet equals one wedge of fruit.

True Lemon and True Orange for your water as well as the lemonades are recommended for 16oz of water, but you can vary the amount of water to suit your taste preference. I liked the 16oz serving for sipping water all day, but prefer less water for a sweeter beverage with a meal.

True Lemonade and True Raspberry Lemonade are made sweeter with Stevia. I have been following the Belly Fat Cure diet for a few months and True Lemon is one of the products the program endorses because of the use of Stevia. Stevia is a plant derived sweetener, not a chemical like aspartame or sucralose (Splenda) that your body doesn't know how to process. Stevia is one of the best alternatives to sugar if you are watching your waistline.

Read more about why you should switch from Splenda to Stevia HERE and HERE.

Another neat set of products from the True Lemon line is the packets of True Lemon, Lime, Orange, and Grapefruit. These are meant for drinks as well as for cooking. I added a lemon packet to some ice tea which gave some variety without having to slice up a whole lemon for just one drink. I also enjoyed using the True Lime in a cold PBR or other light beer, saving me money in the long run since I didn't have to buy beer with the added lime, or buy limes themselves, which aren't always cheap.

For cooking, if you have a recipe that calls for 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, instead of buying and squeezing a whole lemon, you just add one packet of True Lemon. Again, it is the fruit in crystallized form with no calories and no sweetener. I don't usually keep a lot of lemons and limes in my fridge because they tend to spoil before I use them. This is a product I will definitely use on a regular basis because I love to cook but I can't always keep fresh staples in the house. For cooks there is also the True Lemon Shaker. I enjoyed using the shaker to add extra flavor on grilled chicken.

As I mentioned earlier, my husband and I have been watching our sugar intake in order to trim our waistlines so we were really excited to have the True Orange and True Grapefruit to try at breakfast time. We haven't had fruit juice with our breakfast in months because most juices have about two days worth of sugar. We added a packet of orange/grapefruit to some seltzer water and we had a ZERO CALORIE bubbly breakfast drink. I will definitely use this product again. Especially if I see a coupon for it!
