Boba Baby Carrier 3G Review

The Boba Family recently gave our family an opportunity to review its newest carrier and we were delighted! We loved using a wrap when our son Logan was little but now that he is 17 months we need something with more support that still allows us the freedom and mobility we wish to have.

"Boba designs thoughtfully crafted products for active parents who want the time and freedom to create a real and caring bond with their child, while living life to the fullest"

The new and thoughtfully well designed Boba Carrier 3G was sent to us in the pattern "Soho." I love the pattern. I am totally in favor of having some baby accessories be in prints mommy likes and not just covered in cute animals, but if that is your style then I suggest you take a look at the "Kangaroo" pattern. The pattern has cute animals but in a modern design. There are also basic colors like black and grey, check for availability because this popular carrier has been selling out fast!

The new Boba Carrier 3G is very similar to the original Boba Carrier design but with a dozen new and improved features. It is made of high quality cotton. It is designed to easily hold tiny babies without an extra insert, or carrier a toddler with extra support in the form of new removable foot holders that properly align baby's pelvis and spine. There is an extra strap to adjust more easily for nursing while wearing the carrier.

There are a few great features just for mom and dad such as pockets designed to hold most smart phones and a purse strap for mom. Check out more of the great Boba Carrier 3G features.

We are looking forward to using our Boba this summer as we navigate crowded fairs and festivals, take hikes, go camping, and enjoy other activities where it might not be as easy or practical to take a stroller along. I also really like using this kind of carrier on airplane trip. We use our stroller to push around our bags and keep Logan in the carrier. It is also helpful during the plane ride itself at keeping our wiggly boy from escaping our laps. I also think the carrier will really come in handy when we have another baby for things like grocery shopping where we don't want to take a stroller along but Logan can walk or ride in a cart.

Our first experience with the Boba was a trip to our local farmers market. This was a great example of a place where we'd rather use a carrier than a stroller. There are large crowds to navigate and with a stroller we also felt we might be blocking other shoppers view of smaller vendor tables.

You can use the carrier on your front or back and it is very easy to load a child onto the back with just one person. We followed the safety guide and instructions while my husband did a solo loading of our toddler into the carrier. Our son really seemed to enjoy riding on daddy's back. He was a lot calmer than he would have been in a stroller. That may change over time as he gets used to the carrier but for now it is a new and fun experience to see his little world from up so high. I loved the relaxed look on his face and we walked around.

What I love about the carrier as a wearer is the extra wide and very supportive waist belt, as well as the padded shoulder straps and the across the chest/back buckle strap that keeps it all secure and in place. After my husband used it the first time, he decided that he probably could have worn the waist belt a little higher for more of the padding on the straps to stretch across his shoulder comfortably. After trying it again later he realized that was exactly the adjustment he needed to make carrying our son quite comfortable. I'm only 5' so I really appreciate the design of the carrier because I feel like the weight is distributed very evenly and I'm not going to fall over, break my back, or have a shoulder ache by the end of the day. Trust me, as a former nanny who has tried all sorts of carriers, they are not all created equal!

Boba also has few other great products such as their baby wrap, storage bags, and the mini Boba: a child size carrier for your little one to mimic mommy or daddy and carry a little doll. I think the mini Boba is such a cute and creative idea. I know some of my friends with little girls would think it a genius toy for girls who like playing mommy!
