Zaggora HotPants Review

Take the HotPants Challange: 

"Recently, I was given the opportunity to review HotPants, a product from Zaggora that claims to help women lose up to 2 jean sizes in 2 weeks.  I typically consider myself a skeptic when it comes to fad workout products, but I thought I'd be open-minded and give them a try. 

The first thing I noticed was that they are mailed in a big bright yellow package with HOT PANTS in big, bold, black lettering.  I'm not one to embarrass easily, but if you are, you may want to contact the company and put in a special request for more conservative packaging.  From several posts on their Facebook page, it appears that they are more than happy to comply with that request.

As for the pants themselves, they are made from a neoprene-type material that is very reminiscent of a wetsuit.  Zaggora claims that the pants encourage perspiration to help slim your tummy and thighs and the pants definitely succeed there. I first tried sleeping in my Hot Pants overnight (one of the ways to wear them recommended in the product info) and could very clearly tell in the morning that I had been sweating overnight. It was actually a pretty pleasant surprise. I never felt that uncomfortable nastiness that comes along with sweating; the HotPants did a fantastic job of wicking away moisture and keeping me feeling dry.  I also gave the HotPants a go while visiting the gym and true to their claim, they (pretty drastically) increased perspiration in their target areas.  I didn't notice an increase in temperature anywhere else in my body, however,I did find myself MUCH thirstier while I was working out and found that I was going through water almost twice as fast as I normally do. While I was running, I found it noticibly more challenging to run with the pants than without them.  I'd compare it to the difference between running on a 60 degree day versus running on an 80 degree day--they are both doable, but it is easier to run in the cooler weather.

Like any product, I'd say that there are some pros and cons that go along with HotPants.
 

The Pros:

-They really get you sweating, but also help wick away the moisture.

-You don't HAVE to wear them while working out.  You can sleep in them, do your housework in them, or even just take a walk in them.  There aren't too many things out there that can make your body work while you sleep.  The lazy side of me really loves that about Hot Pants.


The Cons:

-THEY ARE HAND WASH ONLY.  That is a pretty big con for me.  I dislike handwashing anything. I didn't want to risk messing up the pants during the review period so I actually adhered to the washing recommendations, but I can't picture myself doing that forever. They also take awhile to dry. If you are used to handwashing or have a hnadwash cycle on your washer, this should be no problem.

-They have a bright yellow HOTPANTS logo right on the front left leg.  I can see some people being kind of timid about walking around with a clothing item labeled "Hot Pants". But they can be worn under other workout clothing to hide the logo.

Now for the big question:  Did I lose two jean sizes? 

No, but to be fair, I don't have two sizes to go down.  I'm a good size with pesky thighs that won't get on board with the rest of the program.  I didn't do any measurements before starting, so there are no hard numbers for you, but I have been able to comfortably wear two pairs of jeans that I avoided wearing before because they were tight around the thighs.  I can't be 100% sure if that's from the pants or if it's just a natural progression in watching what I eat/working out, but I feel like the HotPants did make some difference.  I don't think they are a magic fix for weight loss, but I think HotPants could be a great way to supplement a healthy diet and workout routine to see even better results."
