Jonah's Auction for DebRA, a group that supports EB patients, families, and research for a cure!

I wanted to draw my readers attention to a wonderful event that is going on this weekend 2/24 through Monday 2/27.

For the third straight year, jonahsebauction.blogspot.com will be celebrating Jonah's birthday by holding an auction to raise funds for DebRA, an organization that supports EB patients and families AND provides research funds in search of a cure for EB.

Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) is a rare genetic disorder that is painful and can lead to disability, disfigurement & early death. There is no cure or treatment today. EB makes the skin so fragile that the slightest friction causes blisters and skin tears. The eyes, mouth, throat and other internal organs are also affected.

The 2012 auction begins Friday (2/24) at 8pm EST and runs through Monday (2/27) at 9pm EST. There are tons of items up for auction including handmade goods, jewelry, gift cards, and more! Support this great cause and bid on something this weekend at  http://jonahsebauction.blogspot.com.

Be sure to make a bid on my scarf and headband set from my Etsy shop Two Little Sea Stars!

Pinteresting Project: Mess-Free Finger Painting

I saw this one on Pinterest and was eager to try it because my son is not quite ready for finger painting in general and could use a few more learning activities geared towards his age range. I was actually quite disappointed to say that it didn't work very well. I may need more watered down paint or a different surface that won't be destroyed by paint. I put saran wrap over paper with paint on it and didn't really move around. It just squished a little. My son lost interest after about 30 seconds. Oh well, Pinterest Fail. If you have tried this and tips to share, please comment and let me know!

Wordless Wednesday! Catch me if you can!

My little toddler is one busy little guy. Here are the few photos, most blurry, that I've been able to snap in the last 2 months. He is always on the go and it is hard to get a photo of my little man!

Logan has his own phone, no battery, don't worry!

These are daddy's rubber sparing knives, don't worry, I'm not letting my kid play with knives!

Pintersting: One of a Kinds and The Stories Behind

Currently for sale one-of-a-kind at Two Little Sea Stars
I love to make one-of-a-kind pieces for my Etsy shop, Two Little Sea Stars, and for friends and family. Right now I am working on a purple set of booties with flowers on the toes and matching hair clips. Much like a current coral set featured in my Etsy shop. I love that there is always a story behind each one-of-a-kind, and I wanted to share a few of those stories with my readers.

This is my friend Morgan's daughter, who is about to turn 2 and about to be a big sister. I loved trying out this flower block pattern for her baby blanket I sent her. Happy 2nd birthday Hollyn!

This set I exchanged with another vendor at a craft fair this past Christmas for a set of pink skull earrings to wear to Logan's "Lil' Rebel" themed first birthday. She was really excited about giving them to a friend.

This was my second granny square blanket, my first is pictured above. I made this for my friend Ashley's first son, because she choose such unique colors for his nursery. I remember her husband accidentally washed it and when I came for a visit and to meet her baby, I spent some time making repairs.

This blanket I made for my friend Sara's daughter Grace. Sara lives in Chicago and I miss her so much!

This I made for Brittney, my business partner at Two Little Sea Stars. She did a beach themed nursery for her daughter, Ava Grace, and this is one of the items that inspired us to start our business.

Before I had my son I worked for a wonderful family as a nanny. Madison is one of the sweetest baby girls and her parents Brian and Nicole have been a huge blessing to our family, giving Logan many of Madi's baby things. This hat was one of the many ways I have gotten to say 'Thank You'!

While I was pregnant with my son I made him several items. This hat and the two sweaters below.

My husband loved the hooded jacket I made my son so much, he asked me to make him one too. After 13 months, I finally finished it, don't my boys just look so cool?!

New Post Theme: Pinterest

I'm starting a new catagory! I want to be able to share some things on pinterest as well as post some inspired projects that I found on pinterest!! Here are some crafty things I'd like to share and then keep scrolling to see my first Pinterest project! Be sure to follow my boards too!

This week I'm sharing some hand-made cards I've done! One of my favorite home-made gifts is to take blank cards and add nature photos I've taken with some colored cardstock backgrounds and then give them to a loved one so they have a stock pile of card for any occasion!

Here's my first Pinterest project:

My Inspiration

My Completed Project:

I did my box double sided, with my own take: "30 Blows!" on the other side! I used granola bar boxes, wrapping paper, tissue paper, grosgrain and sheer ribbon, a hot pink pencil hot glued to the card and box, and then stuffed the bottom of the boxes with tissue to give the suckers something to stand on. My girlfriend loved it! Happy 30th Sarah!
